G-Star RAW calls for South African tailors & fashion designers to become their certifies tailors
Become a Certifies G-Star RAW Tailor:
Last year (2021) G-Star RAW launched its G-Star RAW Certified Tailors initiative which aimed at repairing their customers jeans in the Netherlands. They advised their customers not to dispose or throw away their old G-Star jeans, but rather to get them fixed by one of their highly skilled, well trained and specially hand-picked Certified Tailors. All of this will be done Free of charge, Mahala!. They are launching this Certified Tailors initiative in South Africa and they are searching for fashion designers and tailors to partner with.
What are they looking for?
They are looking for the best tailors in South Africa to help them to extend the lifecycle of our jeans.
A true denim enthusiast with a passion for upcycling and repairing fashion.
Someone that wants to be trained at G-Star Global HQ in Amsterdam, learning everything about RAW denim, stitching techniques, 3D design, our fits and fabrics.
Someone that wants to be turned into a G-Star denim expert.
Requirements:
Located in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban
Have a shop or studio where customers can bring in their products for repair
Is a denim enthusiast with an interest in sustainability and upcycling
Must be a talented tailor with the sewing skills to match
Program:
13th of June: Announcement of the selected tailors
Mid-august: Workshop at the Global HQ in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
